Caitlyn’s Bridal Session at The Ferns at Oak & Fennel Farms

We had the pleasure of shooting Caitlyn’s Bridal Session at one of Wilmington’s newest wedding venues, The Ferns at Oak & Fennel Farms. Which just so happens to be their wedding venue. I knew immediately after the first few photos that this was not Caitlyn’s first experience in front of the camera. Not saying that having modeling experience changes the experience, but she knew exactly which poses would make her look her best and really streamlined the shoot allowing us to use every inch of the property. The Ferns at Oak & Fennel just had their first wedding back in June of this year, I know this stunning and neatly manicured space will quickly become one of Wilmington’s most sought after venues. The venue sits on a family-run farm and was intentionally designed to blend the relaxed charm of the countryside with a polished, modern space for weddings and celebrations. I knew immediately after the first few photos that this was definitely not Caitlyn’s first experience in front of the camera. While you certainly don’t need modeling experience to have an amazing bridal session, Caitlyn’s confidence in front of the camera made the entire session incredibly seamless.

Because we were able to move quickly and she was comfortable trying different poses, we had plenty of time to explore The Ferns at Oak & Fennel Farms and take advantage of practically every corner of the property. This is one of the things I love most about doing a bridal session at your actual wedding venue — you get the chance to discover all of those little pockets of beautiful light and interesting backdrops that can become part of your wedding photography.
