Caitlyn and Devin’s September wedding at The Ferns at Oak + Fennel Farms was a perfect example of how good a fall wedding can look here in coastal North Carolina. Just outside Wilmington in Castle Hayne, The Ferns is one of the area’s newest modern barn wedding venues, combining clean, modern architecture with the natural beauty of the farm. The venue sits on a 16-acre property and was created as a dedicated event space within Oak + Fennel Farms.
With the first hints of fall showing up in the florals, Caitlyn and Devin’s day had that perfect late-summer-to-fall feeling—warm, colorful, relaxed, and full of natural moments. The seasonal flowers brought plenty of texture and color to the modern setting, while the surrounding property gave us plenty of opportunities for portraits throughout the day.
