Amanda and Ryan couldn’t have asked for a better fall wedding day at Brooklyn Arts Center in downtown Wilmington, NC! With perfect weather and good vibes all around, these two celebrated surrounded by their closest family and friends in the heart of the Brooklyn Arts District. The day started with a laid-back morning and a sweet first look in front of the iconic upstairs bay window, followed by an intimate ceremony inside The Annex, with its beautiful stained-glass windows. Every corner of the venue was filled with gorgeous greenery and colorful wildflowers by Jenna at The Saltjoy Experience. We snuck away for some golden-hour wedding portraits before heading into a beautifully designed reception brought to life by Design Perfection, Social Butterfly Events, and The Saltjoy Experience. The rest of the night was filled with heartfelt toasts, plenty of laughter, delicious food from A Thyme Savor, and a packed dance floor thanks to Martin with Active Entertainment. Such an incredible day celebrating these two at one of my favorite Wilmington wedding venues! Amanda + Ryan’s Fall Wedding at Brooklyn Arts Center | Wilmington, NC
There’s something pretty special about a fall wedding in downtown Wilmington, especially when the weather cooperates as perfectly as it did for Amanda and Ryan! These two celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful Brooklyn Arts Center, located on 4th Street in Wilmington’s historic Brooklyn Arts District. The weather was perfect, the vibes were high, and the entire day was filled with good people, gorgeous details, and plenty of fun.
A Beautiful Fall Wedding at Brooklyn Arts Center
From the moment I walked into Brooklyn Arts Center, it was clear how much thought had gone into bringing Amanda and Ryan’s vision to life. Every inch of this already beautiful venue was adorned with lush greenery and colorful wildflowers by Jenna at The Saltjoy Experience. The combination of natural textures, vibrant florals, and the historic character of Brooklyn Arts Center made for an incredible setting for their fall wedding.
The morning was about as laid-back as it gets. Amanda and Ryan spent the early part of their day surrounded by their closest friends and family, enjoying the getting-ready process without any rush. Those relaxed, candid moments are always some of my favorites to photograph, and there were plenty of them throughout the morning.
Once everyone was ready, we made our way to one of my favorite spots inside Brooklyn Arts Center for Amanda and Ryan’s first look — the gorgeous oversized bay window on the upstairs balcony. It’s one of the most recognizable features of the venue and such a great location for a private moment together before the ceremony.
An Intimate Ceremony at The Annex
For their ceremony, Amanda and Ryan chose The Annex at Brooklyn Arts Center, the adjoining former schoolhouse that has been transformed into a beautiful, intimate wedding and event space.
The large stained-glass windows and historic architecture give The Annex so much character, and with Jenna’s gorgeous florals bringing everything together, it was the perfect setting for these two to exchange their vows surrounded by their favorite people.
One of the things I love about photographing weddings at Brooklyn Arts Center is the variety of spaces available, and being able to move between The Annex and the main venue makes for a really unique wedding day experience.
Golden Hour Wedding Portraits in Downtown Wilmington
With such perfect fall weather, there was no way we were missing the opportunity to sneak away for some sunset portraits!
We took advantage of that beautiful, warm October light for some portraits of Amanda and Ryan before heading back to join their guests for the reception. Fall really is one of my favorite times of year to photograph weddings in Wilmington. The comfortable temperatures and beautiful golden light make it hard to beat, especially in a setting like the Brooklyn Arts District.
A Beautifully Designed Reception and One Incredible Party
Back inside the main Brooklyn Arts Center, an incredible reception space was waiting for everyone. Jeff with Design Perfection, Marcie and her crew with Social Butterfly Events, and Jenna with The Saltjoy Experience had completely transformed the venue into something special.
The combination of thoughtful design, lush greenery, and colorful wildflowers worked perfectly with the historic interior of Brooklyn Arts Center. Every little detail came together beautifully, creating a space that felt both elegant and welcoming.
From there, the night was all about celebrating!
Amanda and Ryan kicked things off with a perfect first dance, followed by heartfelt toasts, cake cutting, and plenty of laughter. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner from A Thyme Savor, and Martin with Active Entertainment kept the music going and the dance floor moving throughout the evening.
The whole day had such an easygoing, fun atmosphere, which made it a blast to photograph. From the relaxed morning with family and friends to the golden-hour portraits and packed dance floor, Amanda and Ryan’s wedding was everything you could hope for in a beautiful fall celebration.
Congratulations again to Amanda and Ryan! Thanks so much for having me along to capture it all!
