Kenzie + Robbie’s Sneads Ferry Waterfront Wedding

Some wedding days don’t go exactly as planned, but sometimes the unexpected turns into one of the most memorable parts of the story. Kenzie and Robbie’s wedding was the perfect example of that, with a beautiful waterfront ceremony in Sneads Ferry, fall-inspired details, a packed bridal party, and a rainy reception celebration at Topsail Moose Lodge in Hampstead, North Carolina.

With rain in the forecast, Kenzie and Robbie made the last-minute decision to move their ceremony earlier in the day to an incredible waterfront property in Sneads Ferry. It was a decision that turned out to be absolutely perfect.

A First Look With Dad and Brother

Before the ceremony, Kenzie shared a special first look with two of the most important people in her life: her dad and her brother. These quiet, emotional moments were a beautiful way to begin the day before everything shifted into wedding-day excitement.

With a full bridal party, four adorable flower girls, and three ring bearers, there was no shortage of personality or memorable moments leading up to the ceremony. The fall-inspired decorations and colorful mums added the perfect seasonal touch to the waterfront setting.

A Waterfront Wedding Ceremony in Sneads Ferry, NC

The waterfront property provided an incredible backdrop for Kenzie and Robbie to exchange their vows. With the water nearby, autumn decorations throughout the ceremony space, and their closest friends and family gathered around them, the setting felt both intimate and unforgettable.

Moving the ceremony up meant adjusting the original plans at the last minute, but it gave Kenzie and Robbie the opportunity to celebrate their marriage in a beautiful outdoor setting before the weather took a turn.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the remaining time to finish up the formal family portraits, wedding party photos, and portraits of the newlyweds.

And then, almost as if the timing couldn’t have been any better, the rain began.

Making the Most of a Rainy Wedding Day

As soon as the ceremony and formal portraits were finished, the rain started falling and didn’t let up. Looking back, moving everything up was absolutely the right call. Kenzie and Robbie were able to have their waterfront ceremony and capture those important outdoor photographs before the weather settled in for the rest of the day.

Wedding days rarely unfold exactly as expected, and this is a great reminder that sometimes a little flexibility can make all the difference. The important moments happened, the portraits were finished, and the celebration was ready to continue indoors.

A Second Ceremony and Reception at Topsail Moose Lodge in Hampstead

From Sneads Ferry, the celebration continued at Topsail Moose Lodge in Hampstead, North Carolina. Because the ceremony location had changed at the last minute, some guests weren’t able to make it to the waterfront property in time. Kenzie and Robbie made sure those friends and family members could still share in the moment by holding a second ceremony at the reception venue.

It was a thoughtful way to bring everyone together and give those guests the opportunity to witness their marriage, even with the unexpected changes to the day.

The reception was filled with everything that makes a wedding celebration special: a delicious Southern buffet catered by Stix BBQ, heartfelt toasts from loved ones, parent dances, and the traditional cake cutting.

Despite the rain outside, the room was filled with the people who mattered most, celebrating Kenzie and Robbie and the beginning of their next chapter together.

A Wedding Day to Remember

Kenzie and Robbie’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best wedding days aren’t necessarily the ones where everything goes according to plan. They’re the ones filled with meaningful moments, the people you love, and the flexibility to embrace whatever comes your way.

From Kenzie’s emotional first looks with her dad and brother to the fall-decorated waterfront ceremony in Sneads Ferry and the lively reception at Topsail Moose Lodge in Hampstead, every part of the day told a story worth remembering.

Congratulations, Kenzie and Robbie! Thank you both for trusting me to capture such an important chapter in your lives. Even with the last-minute changes and nonstop rain, your wedding day was full of love, laughter, and moments you’ll be able to look back on for years to come.
