I’ve been caught up in Spring wedding season for the past few months, I’ve worked with some super awesome couples and captured some amazing moments, and I’m super excited to start sharing some of this year’s (and some last years) weddings. I started off the year with a Bridal session with Christine, my April 1st bride, at the Brooklyn Arts Center & the Annex. I really love the way these came out, as well as their wedding images, which was pretty incredible in its own right. The Annex and BAC is such a great wedding venue, much thanks to Rich, the director for opening the doors to us late on a monday for this session. The Annex is a fairly new venue, which is attached to the Brooklyn Arts center, and I’ve yet to shoot a wedding there so I was super stoked to get in there and check it out.

Cory + Lisa | Holden Beach, NC Wedding

Holden Beach WeddingSo, I’ve been looking through my backups and I have A LOT of weddings & sessions I’ve never shared on here! I’m going to try to sprinkle in some older weddings with the new stuff. This wedding was a little over a year ago from Holden Beach, NC. Cory and Lisa are from Illinois and decided they wanted to get married with their toes in the sand. Living close to the beach my whole life, its pretty easy to take it for granted, there many “landlocked” folks who have never set their foot in the ocean. Lisa wanted to be sure none of her friends and family had that problem and brought them all down to a beautiful strand of beach called Holden Beach. It’s a good family beach, low on tourists and high on pristines white sand beaches. They decided not to have a formal reception, just some finger foods and fellowship with their many friends and family who made the trek down at a big rental house on the island.

River Room WeddingJeff & Wendy have known each other since elementary school. In fact, they have proof. During picture day, in Mrs Horne’s 4th grade class, these two, either by fate or coincidence, are pictured sitting side by side. If you believe in fate, you don’t need much more evidence than that. If only they knew many years later, they’d be facing each other, in front of their many friends and family, vowing to be by each others side forever. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Their wedding was a great way to kick off my 2016 wedding season and the River Room provided the quintessesntial back drop to celebrate their futures together. Thanks for having me guys.

Coastline Convention Center Wedding Scott & Dale were wed late last year at the Coastline Convention Center in Downtown Wilmington, NC. This picturesque spot is located on the north side of downtown right on the Cape Fear River. It has special meaning for me because it is where I was married! Every year, I like to look back on my favorite moments. Things go so fast during wedding season, once I have one wedding out the door, I have another one right in front of me. So a lot of times I don’t get to look back at every single image. This allows me to do that. I’ve included not only images from the business side of things, but also from personal projects and travels. I already have a lot of good things planned for 2016, so I’ll look forward to sharing those when the time comes. Enjoy!

Jesse + Jamie | Greystone Inn, Palate Bottle Shop Wedding | Wilmington, NC

Greystone Inn WeddingI messaged Jamie a few days prior to her and Jesse’s wedding, asking if all the plans were still in place. I did this because there was a hurricane predicted to make landfall on the day of their wedding and I had heard from a few fellow photographers that their weddings had been postponed. Her response was, “Hoping for a miracle, the show must go on…” The use of the word miracle was key there, as shortly after, the hurricane took a turn eastward, missing us completely. We didn’t have a drop of rain and the sun even made an appearance. I knew from my first meeting with them, that their wedding was going to be awesome. With a rustic/elegant theme, a food truck, a Bottle Shop reception, and a stunning couple, I knew this was going to be a unique and memorable event. I told them during their couples portraits that they could be on the cover of a wedding magazine, and boy could they. I make a joke about certain weddings that I could just close my eyes, point my camera, snap away and still come away with gold, this was one of those. Their ceremony was held outdoors in the courtyard of the Greystone Inn and the reception was at Palate Bottle Shop. The food truck was provided by Vittles and it was exceptional. Michael + Roxie | Brooklyn Arts Center Wedding | Wilmington, NC

Michael + Roxie’s May wedding was held at the historic Brooklyn Arts Center in Downtown Wilmington, NC. One of my favorite places to photograph in Wilmington. Roxie’s eye for design is impeccable, and Charyl from Social Butterfly Events, along with the crew from Eco Chic Blossoms really knocked this one out of the park. The reception setting inside of the main building of the BAC looked the best I’ve ever seen it. Roxie and her bridesmaids got ready at historic Baker-O’Connor House on South Front Street, making for a beautiful backdrop for photos. After a intimate ceremony in the courtyard at the BAC surrounded by their closest family & friends, we took the trolly down to the waterfront to get some portraits using the Cape Fear River as a backdrop. We partied the night away to the sounds of the Virginia based party band,Attraction. Here are a few of my favorite moments from their special day.
