Colorado Springs Wedding. Wow. I can’t say enough about this wedding, these people, this place. Spending 3 days in Colorado Springs with Justin, Cheyenne, their friends & family was definitely a (if not THE) highlight of 2014. Placing a wedding in the middle of the Black Forest in Colorado is really a no brainer, add to that a group of beautiful and charismatic people, and you’ve got yourself a dream wedding. I could’ve closed my eyes and just repeatedly pressed the shutter button and still came away with gold. I met Cheyenne at Danny+Brittany’s wedding in Sunset Beach where she was a bridesmaid, so it was great knowing I’d see some familiar faces at her wedding. The weather was perfect and emotions were flowing throughout the ceremony as Justin & Cheyenne receited their hand-written vows, something you don’t see very often anymore. I’m never good at narrowing down images for blog posts, but this one’s a doozy, and I still have some images to post from the first two days I was with them.
The quintessential setting for a rustic DIY wedding, deep within the Black Forest of Colorado Springs. Serene and intimate, the Cathedral Pines Lodge is an ideal pair for the wooded outdoor ceremony location, the A-Framed cabin-like structure peaks it’s way through the towering Ponderosa Pines. Justin + Cheyenne share a love and adoration for one another like any I’ve ever seen, there was was hardly a dry eye amongst the guests as they recited their hand-written vows to one another. As if everyone else had disappeared and it was just the two of them standing against the log arbor. This wedding was breath-taking from start to finish, from the picturesque location, to the bright warm sunshine, the carefully assembled rustic DIY decor and details, and certainly the stunning life-long friends that stood by their side and comprised the bridal party. We are delighted to share this wedding with you, with the hopes that it inspires you to create the wedding of dreams amongst the forests of Colorado.
Well, wedding season it officially in full swing here in Southeastern North Carolina. The temperatures are warming, the flowers are blooming and the tourists are beginning to filter in. This first post is from Scott & Lindsey’s engagement session down at Fort Fisher, NC. After a couple reschedules and a week of unpromising weather, we finally managed to nail down a day with perfect conditions. Lindsey made some awesome props for their Save the Date cards, matching the rustic theme of their wedding. They even brought along their pooch Nolan for a handful of portraits. Here’s a little taste of what we got. Can’t wait to shoot their wedding in October. I’ll have some pretty steady content here on the blog in the next few months.
