Greenfield Lake Engagement In honor of shooting the wedding of these guys in California in a couple months, I thought I’d throw their engagement photos up on the blog! They’ve had to reschedule their wedding date a couple times, and I was beginning to wonder if they would ever get married! But they landed on a date in October at Kevin’s grandfathers home in Santa Barbara (technically Lompoc), California. Needless to say, I’m pretty freaking excited to get back out on the west coast to shoot this beautiful couple in such a beautiful location. We shot these photos about a year ago at Greenfield Lake in Wilmington. I don’t shoot here a whole lot, but it’s really got a lot of awesome spots for photos. Although, it does get a little sketchy after dark!

Brooklyn Arts Center WeddingNo better way to follow Christine’s bridal session than her wedding photos! Brooklyn Arts Center is one of my favorite venues in Wilmington to shoot. The director Rich is super accommodating to everyone and makes sure everything runs super smoothly throughout the day. Charyl from Social Butterfly and Design Perfection literally knocked this one out of the park. I’ve shot here a lot and its always interesting to see how the bride’s vision can be translated into the space, lets just say Christine’s vision is on point! In a tradition of good luck, Christine’s mom handcrafted 1000 gold origami cranes to hang elegantly behind their cake table and it was absolutely stunning. It was such a happy and emotional day, its hard to look at the photos and not have all those happy feels come rushing back! This wedding was also featured on Borrowed & Blue!!

River Room WeddingJeff & Wendy have known each other since elementary school. In fact, they have proof. During picture day, in Mrs Horne’s 4th grade class, these two, either by fate or coincidence, are pictured sitting side by side. If you believe in fate, you don’t need much more evidence than that. If only they knew many years later, they’d be facing each other, in front of their many friends and family, vowing to be by each others side forever. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Their wedding was a great way to kick off my 2016 wedding season and the River Room provided the quintessesntial back drop to celebrate their futures together. Thanks for having me guys.

Coastline Convention Center Wedding Scott & Dale were wed late last year at the Coastline Convention Center in Downtown Wilmington, NC. This picturesque spot is located on the north side of downtown right on the Cape Fear River. It has special meaning for me because it is where I was married! Michael + Roxie | Brooklyn Arts Center Wedding | Wilmington, NC

Michael + Roxie’s May wedding was held at the historic Brooklyn Arts Center in Downtown Wilmington, NC. One of my favorite places to photograph in Wilmington. Roxie’s eye for design is impeccable, and Charyl from Social Butterfly Events, along with the crew from Eco Chic Blossoms really knocked this one out of the park. The reception setting inside of the main building of the BAC looked the best I’ve ever seen it. Roxie and her bridesmaids got ready at historic Baker-O’Connor House on South Front Street, making for a beautiful backdrop for photos. After a intimate ceremony in the courtyard at the BAC surrounded by their closest family & friends, we took the trolly down to the waterfront to get some portraits using the Cape Fear River as a backdrop. We partied the night away to the sounds of the Virginia based party band,Attraction. Here are a few of my favorite moments from their special day.

Ryan and Chelsea (or Chopsea, as they were aptly named by Tanner during his best man speech) were married at the Brooklyn Arts Center at St Andrews, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Chops (Ryan) is an old highschool friend, so it was nice seeing a lot of familiar faces. The Brooklyn Arts Center is always a pleasure to shoot at, and not to meantion beautiful. Tanner’s best man speech, which turned into a rendition of Ice, Ice, Baby (only substituting Chops, Chops, Chelsea and his own witty lyrics) was a hit, and really set the mood for the reception. Here’s a little of what went down. Thanks as always to Rich and the crew at BAC for always being so accommodating and a big thanks to my brother John for second shooting this one with me. 128 South Wedding. I photographed Marcos and Nicole’s wedding on a hot summer day in Downtown Wilmington, NC at the always beautiful 128 South. They were well prepared for the heat with sunglasses and fans for the guests and a tent covering the ceremony location on the back deck, which has a great view of the Cape Fear River. It was great seeing to families/cultures come together, as Marcos is from Brazil. And boy can those Brazilians dance!
