Topsail Beach WeddingIt’s almost beach wedding season! Everyone knows spring is the best season to get married at the beach! With the days getting warmer (and longer! Woohoo!) theres really no better time to be at the beach (minus the cold water!). We’re throwing it back to intimate destination beach wedding in Topsail Island, NC. These two were such a blast, super giggly and photogenic. The paper lanterns were my favorite!
Wrightsville Manor Wedding Jesse & Erin’s original wedding date happened to be when a hurricane was forecasted to make landfall here on the coast. After some careful consideration, Erin decided to postpone her original October wedding date to a new date in November, because let’s be honest, who wants to get married during a hurricane? It turned out to be a good decision and she was still able to secure most, if not all, of her original vendors for the new date. Brittany with Orchid Island Events helped coordinate and design the look of Wrightsville Manor with help from Beautiful flowers by June, and it looked pretty incredible (hence all the detail shots you’ll see below, I’m kind of obsessed). A Thyme Savor catered and the band Spare Change kept the party going late into the evening. Also, shoutout to Tony Morin at Hendy St Productions who handled the video work on this wedding and was a pleasure to work with!
Wrightsville Manor WeddingI knew from my first meeting with Evan & Lexy that their wedding was going to be a good one. Super laid back and fun, you could tell their biggest concern was each other, and you can tell by looking at the smiles on their faces that this truly was the best day of their life. Pair that with one of my favorite local venues, Wrightsville Manor and you’ve got yourself an unforgettable day. Shout out to Hannah at Design Perfection and Beautiful Flowers by June for decking out the space beautifully.
Brooklyn Arts Center WeddingNo better way to follow Christine’s bridal session than her wedding photos! Brooklyn Arts Center is one of my favorite venues in Wilmington to shoot. The director Rich is super accommodating to everyone and makes sure everything runs super smoothly throughout the day. Charyl from Social Butterfly and Design Perfection literally knocked this one out of the park. I’ve shot here a lot and its always interesting to see how the bride’s vision can be translated into the space, lets just say Christine’s vision is on point! In a tradition of good luck, Christine’s mom handcrafted 1000 gold origami cranes to hang elegantly behind their cake table and it was absolutely stunning. It was such a happy and emotional day, its hard to look at the photos and not have all those happy feels come rushing back! This wedding was also featured on Borrowed & Blue!!
Wrightsville Beach WeddingNelson & Beth were married at Bluewater just over the bridge in Wrightsville Beach late last year. This super fun and laid back couple travelled from Durham to be married amongst their closest family and friends. The top floor of Bluewater provided the perfect setting for this inland couple, with awesome views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Wrightsville Beach Drawbridge right out the window. Beth was the opposite of a bridezilla, she opted to avoid typical over-the-top wedding decor and traditions so she could focus on the only thing that mattered, marrying her best friend. Wrightsville Beach WeddingWhile I have some downtime before fall wedding season picks up, I figured it would be a good time to throw some backlogged weddings on the blog. For this one we’re bringing it back to a beautiful October day last year, where Adam & Lauren held their backyard style wedding on the Northern end of Wrightsville Beach. With Big Lollipop Bay as the backdrop, their stylish rustic themed event covered 2 properties adorned with haybales, rustic fall decor, a reclaimed wood bar, vintage candle center pieces and a centered dance floor illuminated by string lights. Guests made use of an awesome Photo Booth setup on an adjacent dock complete with fun props and a vintage sofa. Everyone celebrated well past sunset and sent the newlyweds off in style with a sound-side boat exit. I had an awesome time hanging out with these guys and their fun and energetic bridal party. Every year, I like to look back on my favorite moments. Things go so fast during wedding season, once I have one wedding out the door, I have another one right in front of me. So a lot of times I don’t get to look back at every single image. This allows me to do that. I’ve included not only images from the business side of things, but also from personal projects and travels. Courtyard Marriott Carolina Beach WeddingI had the pleasure of shooting Keith & Heather’s wedding in May at the Courtyard Marriott at Carolina Beach, North Carolina. You’ll probably remember Keith & Heather’s awesome engagement session down at Fort Fisher last fall. I also shot Keith’s sister’s wedding last June. So there were a lot of familiar faces at their wedding. The weather turned out great and everything went off without a hitch. Here’s a bit of what went down.
