Emily & Bryan’s wedding at The Elia in Downtown Wilmington this past weekend was so much fun. We started the weekend off at the The Host Social Hall with an epic welcome party put on by Bryan’s parents. Catered by A Thyme Savor, the spread was incredible with every genre of cuisine you could imagine available for guests to feast on. This was the first event in this newly renovated space, located in the heart of downtown. With three floors, there’s plenty of room to spread out, and there’s an awesome view of the Wilmington Draw bridge from the top floor. We carried that momentum into the next day, for a beautiful wedding day event at The Elia, one of Downtown’s newest wedding venues. I’ve shot a few weddings here already, and you really can’t beat the location and versatility of the space. Port City Event Planners really went all out to make sure their day was up to their expectations. Emily and Bryan recently found out they are pregnant with twins, but that didn’t stop them from planning the wedding of their dreams! We made sure to fit in some photos showcasing the “bump”! They were super laid-back and easy going throughout the day, and really put their trust into the event staff and vendor team. Bryan’s sister was picked to preform the ceremony, but since she’s not legally ordained, we followed the traditional ceremony with a quiet, intimate officiated ceremony in Bijou Park, adjacent to the venue. They had a large bridal party, 20 including the couple, so the park gave us plenty of space to fit in such a large group for bridal party portraits. We were even treated to an awesome sunset, which we made the trek down to the waterfront for. Big congratulations to these two, not only for such an amazing and successful wedding weekend but also for those two little babes they’ve got on the way!
