Greystone Inn WeddingI messaged Jamie a few days prior to her and Jesse’s wedding, asking if all the plans were still in place. I did this because there was a hurricane predicted to make landfall on the day of their wedding and I had heard from a few fellow photographers that their weddings had been postponed. Her response was, “Hoping for a miracle, the show must go on…” The use of the word miracle was key there, as shortly after, the hurricane took a turn eastward, missing us completely. We didn’t have a drop of rain and the sun even made an appearance. I knew from my first meeting with them, that their wedding was going to be awesome. With a rustic/elegant theme, a food truck, a Bottle Shop reception, and a stunning couple, I knew this was going to be a unique and memorable event. I told them during their couples portraits that they could be on the cover of a wedding magazine, and boy could they. I make a joke about certain weddings that I could just close my eyes, point my camera, snap away and still come away with gold, this was one of those. Their ceremony was held outdoors in the courtyard of the Greystone Inn and the reception was at Palate Bottle Shop. The food truck was provided by Vittles and it was exceptional. Flowers by Julia’s and music provided by Karl at Coastal DJ. Note: Sorry for the data strain on your device, there’s 85MB of images below. 🙂 Enjoy.
Wrightsville Beach WeddingJustin & Emily were wed on a scorcing hot summer Sunday (Father’s Day Sunday) on the Oceanic Pier in Wrightsville Beach, NC. The Atlantic provided a stunning blue/green hue as the backdrop for this wedding on the newly re-constructed Oceanic Pier. Their wedding had an elopement “feel” to it, just a small inimate ceremony with their closest friends & family followed by a formal meal at the Oceanic Restaurant located on the pier. Congrats to this couple on their new baby boy that arrived late last year!
Airlie Gardens WeddingLets start breathing some life back into this blog, shall we? I had a very busy fall wedding season (thanks guys :)), which put me behind on my blogging. But all 2015 weddings are out the door, and the door is open for 2016! I hope everyone had an awesome time during the holidays, I still have some open dates in 2016 and I’m currently booking into 2017 as well. Get those inquiries in! That being said, I will be sharing many weddings from 2015, starting with Ryan & Molly, who were wed at the beautiful Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC. Michael + Roxie’s May wedding was held at the historic Brooklyn Arts Center in Downtown Wilmington, NC. One of my favorite places to photograph in Wilmington. Roxie’s eye for design is impeccable, and Charyl from Social Butterfly Events, along with the crew from Eco Chic Blossoms really knocked this one out of the park. The reception setting inside of the main building of the BAC looked the best I’ve ever seen it. Roxie and her bridesmaids got ready at historic Baker-O’Connor House on South Front Street, making for a beautiful backdrop for photos. After a intimate ceremony in the courtyard at the BAC surrounded by their closest family & friends, we took the trolly down to the waterfront to get some portraits using the Cape Fear River as a backdrop. We partied the night away to the sounds of the Virginia based party band,Attraction. Here are a few of my favorite moments from their special day.
