I had the privilege of shooting Stephen & Ashli’s wedding down at Fort Fisher, North Carolina a few weekends ago. They had a great ceremony on the beach followed by a great little reception at Inlet Watch. It was a smaller wedding so they only requested my time for a few hours. Like most beach weddings I’ve shot, the forecast leading up didn’t look too promising, but the weather ended up being perfect. We also were able to separate from the wedding party and guests for a half hour following the ceremony to get some great shots of the newlyweds, which I always recommend. As I mentioned in the last post, I took a trip out to California for a couple weeks after this wedding, so look for that post(s) soon!

I formatted these images for the blog a while back and I thought I had posted them. We had this session a little under a month ago down at Fort Fisher, North Carolina. This was one of my favorite sessions from down there, which tends to be the case whenever I shoot at Ft Fisher. We ended up doing some exploring in some spots I’ve never gone to, including climbing trees, bushwhacking and navigating some interesting tunnels through trees, it turned out to be quite the adventure. Jake joked that these images are going to help boost his career as a J.C. Penny catalog model. I’ll look forward to shooting their wedding this coming September!

Jaime+Kayleigh | Engagement | Pender County, NC

This will probably be my biggest engagement post to date. Epic location + Cool peeps + perfect light always equals gold. Kayleigh had her mind set on shooting in an oat field; and after the first potential field was already harvested, we had to do a little exploring. After almost giving up, we chanced into a perfect open field of oat, in a secluded location with some corn fields across the street. Perfect. I have all ideas they were probably going to cut this oat field down in the following fews days. These guys are long-time homies so shooting with them was nice and easy going. Can’t wait to possibly shoot their wedding in 10+ years lol.

Bill+Stephanie | Wedding | Halyburton Park Wilmington, NC

I shot Bill and Stephanie’s wedding at halyburton park last weekend. It was my first time shooting there and they really went all out to make it a beautiful, beautiful event. It was a shorter wedding, only about 6hrs of shooting time, (I usually clock closer to 10 hrs) but somehow I still managed to collect as many images as a full day ordeal. I’d have to attribute that to the many details that Stephanie payed very close attention to, including coozies, napkins, corn hole sets, the lanterns and lighting, etc were just exceptional and really made it a fun affair to shoot. Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

I shot Alex and Kristin’s wedding a couple weekends ago at the Cameron Art Museum. This would be my first time shooting at this venue and the place is fantastic, as the photos show. You’d probably recognize these two from their engagement session a few months back at Ft Fort Fisher, my wife has known Alex for sometime; we first met Kristin at our wedding last September and we’ve grown to be good friends. Southport Community Center Wedding. Here are some photos from Orry and Laurens’ wedding in Southport / Oak Island, NC a couple weekends ago. If you follow the blog, you’d remember these faces from their engagement session a few months back. This wedding was a blast. We started out on Oak Island where Lauren & her bridemaids were preparing for the big day. Just down the road, Orry and his groomsmen were doing the same. The ceremony was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, NC. This was my first time photographing a catholic wedding and it was BEAUTIFUL! The church was fantastic and even though the ceremony was a little longer than what I’m used to, it gave me the opportunity to get even more photos! The reception was held at the beautiful Southport Community Building, located in historic downtown Southport, overlooking the water. The reception can only be summed up in a few words, these folks know how to party! Here are some photos from Nick & Andrea’s Engagement Session in Southport, NC. This happy couple are from New York and decided to get their Engagement photos done here in the beautiful warm and sunny location of St. James Plantation in Southport. This development (which is enormous by the way) has four golf courses, four club houses and a marina with access to the ICW. It’s retiree paradise. We explored around The Reserve Club for a bit then ended our session down at the Marina. Here’s a few of what we got.

I shot Orry and Lauren’s engagement session a couple weekends ago in Southport, NC. Our original plan of beginning the shoot at Orton plantation was a bust, since that place is still locked up like Fort Knox. We still managed to bag a bunch of incredible images in our short 2 session. These two were naturals making my job easy and fun. And any excuse to explore around the beautiful downtown district of Southport is a good one. I look forward to capturing Orry and Lauren’s Wedding at the Southport Community Center in May.
